Birthday Shenanigans

Kaki Hurai – Oysters

So last Wednesday was my birthday and I’m now a ‘mature’ 22 year old :D! I was out of ideas as to where to have my party (I wanted to have more of a dinner get-together thing) so I asked a friend about it. She suggested that I should have my dinner at a restaurant that I’ve always wanted to try but have never been to: Sono Restaurant.

I got a booking for about 20 people in their 2 private rooms which can be opened up to make 1. The tables aren’t joined but you can see each other.

Everyone I asked said the food was great. I got a simple bowl of Tempura Udon which was lovely even though I couldn’t finish it (too full!). I didn’t order dessert but a lot of others did and they looked so delicious! I think the Mount Fuji dessert was the best – they pour flaming liquor over the top of it! I also had some oysters that my friend insisted I try and they actually weren’t that bad. I definitely recommend Sono for some fine Japanese dining.

I don’t get to see my friends often enough (this is a sign that I need to get out more) so it was great to catch up with so many people – some which I haven’t seen in a year or more! If you’re reading this: thank you all for coming, it was great to catch up with all of you!

Talking with Friends
All of these lovely photos were taken by my friend Jonesy!

The gifts people gave me were also wonderful. I now have new books/DVDs to add to my ‘To Read/Watch/Do” pile which I’m working through at the moment and some great new shirts and gear to geek out with ๐Ÿ˜€

Here’s to another year of having fun and being awesome ๐Ÿ˜€
